Cards

For this project, we had to create two cards for any kind of occasion. I chose to do new year and happy holidays. I chose to put in things that reminded me of those occasions. It was actually quite simple to do if you know exactly what you want it to look like. We had to go onto this website to get some ideas of what our teacher was sorta looking for.

Book Covers

For this project, we had to do two book covers. One had to be of a book that we've already read and the second one had to be of one that we haven't read. I think if we haven't read the book, the perception would change and we wouldn't have as many ideas because we would only know the gist of the book by what someone else told us. By reading the book, we would know more and try to be more creative with it all. Anyways, we had a choice if we worked with a partner on this project or not, I decided to work with someone.

Portrait Retouch

For this project, we had to take our own picture that we took ourselves and do retouches to it. You could make blemishes go away, make your teeth whiter, and etc. We did this by reading the steps from the handout and doing them in order. I chose to do one of my own portraits, but we could've done one of someone else. I like the outcome of this project because it made the picture look better. Because of this, I wouldn't do anything different next time.

Design Tricks: A Down And Dirty Approach

For this project, we had to try out a design in one of the photoshop magazines. I chose to do Design Tricks: A Down And Dirty Approach. All we had to do was to follow the elaborate steps and create something out of our own images. There weren't that many steps but in each step, you had to do about three other things to the image. In the end, all the steps were worth it. They made the images blend together correctly.

Fake Andy Warhol

For this assignment, we had to create a fake Andy Warhol. We did this by following steps in a hand out that told us exactly how to do it. Some of the steps were hard to find, but I managed to find it sooner or later. I like the outcome of this project. This is because it doesnt look bad, I like the colors especially. Because I like the outcome, I wouldnt do it different next time.

The Power of One movie poster

For this assignment, we had to create a movie poster for The Power Of One. We had to include important stuff that the movie was basically about. As you can see, I mostly incorporated boxing into it because thats basically were he got his strength/power. Boxing helped him have the courage and strength to help people that needed it, african americans. Im proud with the outcome because I got the main idea based into it. Because of this, I wouldn't do anything different next time.

The Power Of One text

For this assignment, we had to choose a single word and have pictures that illustrated that word. I chose strength because he kept on getting up and fighting even though he was knocked down so many times. The pictures I chose to illustrate that word were picked because they show strength, like the one where hes hitting something trying to get better at boxing. He had to have strength to keep trying and trying to get better. When his friend died, he had to have strength to keep fighting for what he believed in was right. I am proud with this outcome because it all relates to one another. I wouldnt do anything different next time because of this.

The Power of One 6 images

For this assignment, we had to pick six images with one main theme. The theme I chose was courage. Then we had to choose another picture for the other pictures to be cut into. I chose a boxing glove because thats basically what the whole movie was about and he had courage in fighting. I am proud with the outcome. This is because it all relates to one another and makes sense. Next time, I wouldnt do anything different.

Color Wheel Stencil 2

For this assignment, we didnt have to use our own images but I did except for the stencil. I chose to use the breezeway as the main thing in common with these pictures. I chose a shoe as a stencil because it matched the theme of a breezeway, you have to walk through the breezeway. Then I added primary and secondary photo filters to the images. After that was finished, I added a gradient that was just a simple black and white, nothing fancy.

Color Wheel Stencil

For this assignment we had to practice Balance, Emphasis, Proportion, Rhythm, and Unity while using our own images. We had to take at least six pictures that had something in common with each other. I used pictures that had trees in it. Then we had to use a stencil (one from our own images) that works with the theme. I used a butterfly stencil because its nature too. After we did that, we had to use the stencil to cut out what we want from the other six original pictures. Once when we did that, we had to apply primary and secondary photo filters to the images. Lastly, we had to add a gradient. It couldnt be too complex of a gradient so i just used white a washed out purple and red.

Image That Appeals To Me

This image is called Dashashwemedh Road, Varanasi, India. It appeals to me because it captures a lot of details of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The photographer, Robert Polidori, used Photoshop to put a couple pictures together to make it look like one single image. He was trying to create one image that captured the crumbling buildings, abandoned control rooms at the nuclear plant, and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Authentic2

For this assignment, we had to take our original pictures and make something out of them. I just took a bunch of my pictures and put them all together to make a different scene again. Like my other authentic project, I started with the picture of myself and deleted the background. Next time, I wouldnt do anything different. This is because im proud of the outcome because it all looks like an original picture.

Authentic

For this assignment, we had to use pictures that are our own and make something out of them. I just took a bunch of them and added them together to create a new scene. First I started with the picture of myself, I had to delete the original background of it. Then I put in the lockers, bricks, and stairs. I like the outcome of it all because of the fact that it looks like its all original, except a few flaws but every project is going to have a few flaws no matter what. Because of this, next time I wouldnt do anything different.

Batesville Day T-Shirt Design

For this assignment we had to create a T-Shirt design for Batesville Day. I chose to keep it simple and do a landscape design. After I got the picture on there and made it black and white, I had to include what it was (Batesville Day) and when it was (May 18, 2013). Then I made a border around the picture to make it outlined. What inspired me the most were all of the designs that were shown, like the one that won last year. I am proud of the outcome because its not too bland nor too "flashy". Because of this, I wouldn't do anything different next time.

Typeface

For this assignment, we had to use objects at certain angles to create the letters of the alphabet. I chose to put some Q-tips at certains angles. The examples that I was shown was what inspired me the most. If I had a chance to do it again, I wouldn't do anything different. This is because I'm proud with the outcome, it looks like the letters of the alphabet because of the way I put them together.

Red Office Chair

For this assignment, we had to choose a picture of a 3D chair. When we found out which one we were going to use, we had to choose artwork from our own work or from the internet. I chose one from my own work. Then we had to warp the artwork and make it look like an actual chair, that has a shadow to it, and add a background to it. I tried to play with the warp tool to try to make it look realistic. Once when I was done with that, I worked with the background. I just chose this wallpaper design and used that for the wall (hint the name wallpaper). Then I worked with the floor. I ended up choosing wood flooring because it went better with the wallpaper than all of the other flooring I tried. All of these examples that my teacher showed me inspired me. I wouldn't do anything different next time because im proud of the outcome. This is because it looks like an actual chair with all the curves and everything. Plus, the design in the back looks like it could be an actual design too.

Genoa Chair

For this assignment we had to pick this 3D chair and warp it with out own artwork or someone elses. I chose to use my own. Then we had to add a shadow of the actual chair which turned out to be really simple. I just followed my teachers instructions on how to make the shadow in Photoshop. The thing that inspired me the most was just seeing all of the examples that my teacher showed me. It made me to actually want to do my best. I liked the outcome of the chair. It looks like it could be an actual chair. I wouldnt do anything different next time.

Comic

For this assignment we had to make a comic. The pictures that we used to outline the actual comic strips had to be pictures that we took ourselves. They couldnt be off the internet. I chose to try to do a funny comic. Next time, I would try to make it funnier. It just isnt that funny to me but I tried my best with it in the amount of time we had.

Midterm

For this assignment, we had to pick some pictures (either original or from the internet) and create an abstract image. We had to use all the tools that were mentioned and we had to make a grid for our pictures. I am proud of the outcome. This is because it actually looks good. Next time, I wouldn't do anything differently.
